Here we are in October already. Before you know it, you’ll be stuffing yourself with turkey and sweet potato casserole (my personal fave) and then you’ll roll, maybe literally, right into Christmas. Next thing you know you’re waking up in a new year wondering how the heck that all happened – too much champagne?
My point is, life moves fast. Stop and look around every once in a while, so you don’t miss it. <- This was actually a reminder I got on my phone this morning from a meditation app I use, Calm (not an affiliate) and it came at the right time for me.
Around our house, every October 1st we fasten our seat belts for the ride that we call “Hallowgivemas”. Between school activities, family visits, pumpkin patches, and picking up the ham to take for Thanksgiving dinner only to realize halfway to our parent’s house– who live 2 hours away - that we left it in the fridge (yes, this really happened. we ate ham for months.); we are on autopilot and forget to stop and smell the roses.
You probably experience similar chaos until the new year so, let this be your reminder to take a few minutes every once in a while to look around and enjoy life. Don’t get stuck on autopilot and miss out on the good stuff. And, don’t forget the ham.
